The Silk Road Project Team is dedicated to computational studies of the evolution of planetary systems, star clusters, galaxies and galactic nuclei, black holes and gravitational wave emission.

The Silk Road Astronomy Research and Education Alliance (Silk Road AREA) is pleased to announce its second meeting, or 14th Silk Road Meeting. This event aims to unite global experts in exploring the frontiers of dynamical astronomy through high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, and other advanced astronomical research techniques. It will be an excellent platform for sharing knowledge, fostering collaborations, and discussing the future directions of astronomical research. Researchers from any country with an interest in the topics covered are enthusiastically welcome to participate.

2nd Meeting of the Silk Road Astronomy Research and Education Alliance and 14th Silk Road Meeting

It will be held at the Institute for Advanced Studies (IAS), NewUU, Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from 18 to 22 May 2026. The purpose of the meeting is to bring up the regional (Central Asian) scientists specialized in theoretical physics, astronomy and astrophysics and the international scientific community together and allow exchanging the scientific results to expand contacts and scientific collaborations with international institutions.

It is worth noting that several decrees of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev have become an incentive for the development of physics and astronomy in Uzbekistan in recent years, including decree No. PQ-5032 “On measures to improve the quality of education and improve scientific research in the field of physics” dated March 19, 2021. Within this decree, the main tasks in theoretical physics are defined, and new research institutes with advanced laboratory equipment are being created.

It is necessary to underline that during the last thirty years, due to the attention and assistance of the local, regional and international scientific community, there was great success in the development and establishment of a new well, functioning, and competitive scientific groups specialised in theoretical physics, general relativity & relativistic astrophysics in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Therefore, one of the aims of the conference is to underline the great achievements made in Central Asia and hold an international cooperation on Theoretical Physics, Astronomy and Astrophysics with the involvement of European & South/East Asian collaborators and Central and South/East Asian scientists.

The total number of participants expected to participate in the activity will be over 100, with substantial involvement of scientists from China, South Korea, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, and Europe. There is a good number of expected participants from Germany, the Czech Republic, Italy, Japan etc. We are excited about the prospects of organizing such an event and of collecting the same scientific scope scientists from many different countries in Central and South/East Asia, and Europe.

It is expected that 14th Silk Road Meeting would be a great opportunity for local and regional scientists and students specialized in theoretical physics, astronomy and astrophysics. Another goal of the activity is to underline the importance of the recent triumphal discoveries, such as the detection of gravitational waves by LIGO-VIRGO, images of supermassive black holes M87* and SgrA* by EHT (Event Horizon Telescope), the multimessenger era in astronomy starting with GW170817 and also to show the dynamics of the scientific activities in this area in Central Asia.
