Fundamental processes in atoms and molecules exposed to an intense external laser field and various associated highly-nonlinear phenomena of strong-field laser-matter interaction physics (low and high order harmonics generation, above threshold ionization, formation of nanoparticles by laser ablation, surface modification with intense laser fields).
